I would like to highlight a particularly unique element to the Fit Body Wellness approach to vitality through movement and why we use the Awaken, Condition, Practice approach.
When training any movement, the myofacsia (connective tissue layer over muscle) retains tension to some degree, which can create a compensation pattern. Compensation patterns can also occur from an injury whether due to an accident, overuse, or disuse. From compensation our body will build up residual tension to protect itself and stay in a comfortable pattern, eventually forgetting how to move or being completely immobilized in certain motions or positions. While these patterns kept us safe at one time they are extremely limiting and require commitment to unbind. When we go outside our comfort zone and engage with these stuck places we can experience many layers of unraveling stored tension and when we find ourselves on the other side we are more alive, relaxed and at home in our bodies, we have more strength and more endurance from this balanced place.
The purpose of Awaken, Condition and Practice is to create a movement flow that simultaneously breaks up residual tension and allows you to continue pursuing your movement goals.
